Well folks, apparently I wasn't generous enough the first time around. Admittedly, the 10 desktop patterns that I included in release 1.0 of TableCloths is insignificant by current standards. I also admit that I didn't make things terribly easy on those valiant souls who decided to register their copies of TableCloths 1.0. In order to make it up to you, I present TableCloths 2.0!!! All registered users of TableCloths 1.0 remain registered for release 2.0, and for you "rookies" out there, I've made the registration of this release INSULTINGLY SIMPLE...
TableCloths has always been the only collection of authentic Scottish-tartan desktop patterns. I painstakingly hand-rendered each one from a catalog of tartans, and each is as accurate as can be (down to within a stich or two). TableCloths 2.0 boasts a long list of tartan desktop patterns (I warn you, some more "appealing" than others), and contains a number of "musical instrument" patterns (which are also very difficult to come by), includes support for black-and -white Macs, as well as a number of patterns I rendered just for fun.
While the version you have downloaded contains several desktop patterns, it is only a demo-release, and only scratches the surface!!! Registration ($15 - by cash or money order only - Sorry!!!) entitles you to the full-release - over 30 ADDITIONAL patterns - which will be e-mail'd (or snail-mail'd by request) to you upon receipt of payment.
the demo-release includes:
Inter-blocks: this one looks like popular children's building blocks
Silver Pyramid: space-age wall tiles
BeBack: a purple-colored background resembling the one (and only) desktop pattern
under the BeOS, and looks great with Greg Landweber's BeView extension; it
also matches the background of Apple's Launcher 7.5.5
MacLean: (pronounced mac-lane) not a burger, but an authentic reproduction of the
tartan worn by the Scottish clan of the same name
Black Watch: quite possibly the most widely-recognized tartan
Davidson: my favorite tartan of all (and, um, the one worn by my family...)
MacDonald: gain some insight into Ronald's lineage
MacNab: the tartan with the autumn-feel
Scott & Menzies: black-and-white tartans, for you color-challenged Mac-users
Clarinet: guess...
Trumpet: guess again...
Piano: guess yet again...
the full-release includes:
...a 3-D-rendered pattern (called Eggs), along with a color version of Inter-blocks and more musical instruments. It also contains several more authentic Scottish tartans. Let your Macintosh get in touch with the authentic MacIntosh tartan that your desktop's been waiting for. The tartans of both the MacLeod and Wallace clans are also included (due to recent Hollywood exposure)...
...AND MUCH MORE!!!
